Fried Cabbage and Sausage



  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of fat (butter, lard, tallow, or )gee 
  • ½ Cabbage 
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 Sweet onions sliced 
  • A couple of cloves of garlic
  • freshly ground pepper and salt to taste 
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 meat stock or bone broth
  1. Add the onion, sauté until the onion is translucent about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic and sauté another minute.
  3. Add sliced sausage to the pan and sauté until slightly browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add remaining ingredients  butter, cabbage, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the cabbage with butter and seasonings.
  5. Sauté until cabbage is wilted and slightly browned for about 8-10
