Breathe Easier This Winter: Natural Cleaning & Air Quality Tips Inside
As we step into 2025, we’re reflecting on a wonderful year filled with meaningful moments, family memories, and exciting ventures. This past fall, we spent time hiking on the Mesa, enjoying the quiet views, and foraging in nature. Inspired by the season, we collected pine needles and tried our hand at making homemade Pine-Sol. It worked beautifully and smells amazing! (Recipe below!)
Freshen Up Your Home Naturally
During winter, you’re likely spending more time indoors—especially during the holidays. Did you know that your home’s indoor air quality could silently impact your health? Even with healthy habits like nutritious meals and regular exercise, poor air quality can still affect you.
Common Signs of Poor Indoor Air Quality:
- Headaches
- Breathing issues
- Dry eyes
- Runny noses
- Irritated skin
Try these simple tips to breathe easier this season:
Use HEPA Air Filters
Winter air traps pollutants like smoke and exhaust. HEPA filters can remove microscopic pollutants, reducing allergy and asthma symptoms.
Choose Real Trees
Skip the fake trees, which often contain toxins like PVC. Real trees not only smell delightful but are a safer, more natural choice for your home.
Switch to Essential Oils
Replace scented candles, which can release harmful chemicals, with essential oils. They’re a safer and more natural way to freshen your home.
Go Natural with Décor
Opt for pinecones, greenery, and real pine boughs instead of vintage ornaments that may contain lead or mercury.
